Tauros are medium-sized brute wyverns found only in the Lost World region. Along with Spinosuroka, Deviljho, Duramboros and Abiorugu, they are one of many brute wyverns found in the region.

Appearance and behavior

Tauros are similar to the theropod dinosaur Carnotaurus. Despite being heavily built with almost non-existent arms, they are extremely agile and have a deadly charge. They also have a pair of horns above their eyes, which can be broken. They are around the size of a Blangonga.

When low on health or stamina, they will eat Aptonoth, Kelbypsodon or Forest Apceros to restore this.

Invisible Tauros

Similar to Chameleos, Tauros will often camouflage to blend in with the surroundings. Unlike Chameleos, this effect cannot be negated with Poison, and can only by negated by reducing its health to 45% or less AND breaking the horns.

Attacks and elements

Tauros have no element, but are particularly weak to Thunder and Stun.

  • Bite: Tauros will bite down on the hunter. Causes a small amount of damage.
  • Charge: Tauros will charge at the hunter. Causes a medium amount of damage.
  • Gore: Signature move. Tauros will pin and gore the hunter with its horns several times before letting go. Causes a medium to high amount of damage.
  • Whip: Tauros will whip the hunter with its tail. Causes a small amount of damage.

Due to their agility, heavy weapons such as great swords, bows, lances, bowguns and hammers are not recommended for this monster.
