English Name: Orogon (Oh-ruh-gon)

Romaji: Orougon

The Orogon is a clam - eating Carapaceon that first appears in Monster Hunter Z. They are the younger form of the much larger, Greater Orogon.

Orogons have a bronze coloured exoskeleton. They have big, curved shells on their backs, resembling Ammonite shells. They possess wide claws with serrated edges, which they use to crush clams, starfish, coral, and other hard - shelled creatures that dwell in shallow water. They also have very distinctive legs which are short and robust. Each of these legs are significantly big in comparison with its body size.

Orogons are very timid monsters. They will almost ignore everything else around them when they are hunting for food. When attacked however, be it a hunter, or another monster, they will defend themselves fiercely. Also, though rarely, Orogons are spotted swimming underwater to find more food.

Orogons are always seen living next to shallow pools and lakes. Orogons are also common around beaches, which are their primary hunting ground.
