Monster Hunter: The Minegarde Epic is a game in the Monster Hunter series for Microsoft Windows and the Playstation 4. Unlike other games in the series, this game has a larger emphasis on sandbox gameplay, as the player's character can explore entire villages, towns and cities, taking quests from various characters.

New features

  • Quests can have time limits of up to ninety minutes.
  • The player can travel to and from Loc Lac City, Kokoto Village, Pokke Village, Wyvernian Town, Canyon Settlement, and Dondruma Town (though only Kokoto Village and Canyon Settlement are available at the start).
  • Quests can change from day to night, a feature previously only seen in Monster Hunter 2.
  • Players can sell items to various NPCs to gain money, not just shopkeepers.
  • Throwing knives and anti-dragon bombs are no longer considered supply items.
  • Contract fees are no longer refunded at the end of a quest.
  • Hunting and slaying quests now take three minutes to end after the objectives have been completed.
  • Several items from the second generation treasure quests are now normal items.
  • Kushala Daora and Chameleos can now be captured (Low Rank only).
