Gilkuza is a Flying Wyvern-like Elder Dragon first introduced in the manga, Monster Hunter Orage, and now making its first in-game debut in Monster Hunter Frontier: New World. It is the young form of Myo Galuna and is first encountered in Low Rank Quests.
Physiology[]
Gilkazu's body is very similar to Khezu but it has purple hairs on its wings and underbelly along with a black-grayish skeleton-like shell, giving it an undead look. Its eyes are huge and pure black in color, making it look like it doesn't have eyes.
In Rage Mode, it gains a yellow pupil and spikes erect from its back, much like Zinogre.
Habitat[]
Gilkazu can only be found living in areas with caves and with plenty ore to feed on like the Underground Cave. They've also been spotted in the caves of the Tundra, Frozen Sea, Flooded Forest, and Sandy Plains.
Attacks and Moves[]
It shares a few of Khezu's attacks.
Wind Blasts: Similar to the Rathian, it will shoot three Wind Blasts in three different directions.
Hyper Wind Barrier: It will get on all fours before opening up its spikes and shooting multiple wind blast from them. While doing so, it will have a wind barrier around it that knock hunters in the air and deal high amounts of damage.
Drill Charge: It will cover itself in wind before charging forward at hunters in a drill like way, leaving behind hairs while flying. These hairs cause Darknessblight.
