Intro to MH3D[]

Monster Hunter 3 Destiny is a massive Monster Hunter game that I have invented. It combines the aspects of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate. It has all of the monsters from both games, and even the new areas are made from combinations of the two games (ex. Idyllic Ocean = Deserted Island + Jungle).

For now, I'm going to post information on the brand-new monsters that I have created for this fictional game. I will post monsters as I invent them. Enjoy!

Bruteon[]

Bruteon is the first new monster that you fight in the game. It is a Two-Star Quest monster.

Monster List[]

A fierce bird wyvern that lives in forests and feeds on large herbivores. With incredibly conductive back and wing feathers, it blasts enemies with static electricity. Rookie hunters beware... It can supposedly paralyze as well.

Bruteon

Bruteon, the Mountain Thundercloud. (NOTE: I colored the head just to give you an idea of the color of its feathers.)

Taxonomy[]

Kingdom: Animals

Phylum: Vertebrates

Class: Reptiles

Order: Wyverns

Family: Bird Wyverns

Genus/Species: Monstravias montuosa

In-Game Description[]

Bruteon is a Bird Wyvern that is exclusively found in the Forested Spring. It is known as the Mountain Thundercloud, because of its habitat and its Thunder element. It is a medium sized monster, as most Bird Wyverns are. Its weakness is Fire, and it can inflict Thunderblight and Paralysis. The Bruteon's attack strategy consists of typical Bird Wyvern moves, as well as fluffing up its back and wing feathers to create static electricity.

When low on stamina, it will kill and eat a Bullfango. Also when low on stamina, it cannot charge up static electricity. When it fails to do so, it will drop a Bird Wyvern Tear. White smoke comes from its mouth when it is enraged.

Items/Carves[]

Carving: Bruteon Scale, Bruteon Feather, Bruteon Hide, Monster Bone M, Strong Beak

Capturing: Bruteon Feather, Bruteon Webbing, Bruteon Scale, Monster Bone M

Drops: Wyvern Tear, Bruteon Feather, Bruteon Scale

Additionally, its head and both wings can be broken for another chance at recieving Beaks, Webbing, and Feathers.

Attacks[]

Side Peck: Simply bites/pecks to the side.

Tail Sweep: Swings its tail while turning to the side. Always does two.

Seed-Pecker: Pecks the ground four times.

Charge: Crazily charges forward, falling down at the end.

Swooping Bite: In the air, raises its head, then swoops down with a bite.

Flying Pounce: Flies into the air, then charges forward, landing on the distant target.

Thunder Gather: Fluffs up its back feathers and shoots little sparks out. Bruteon can now use Thunder attacks.(Thunderblight)

Aerial Kick: In the air, quickly flies forward and lashes out at the target with a talon.

Thunder Discharge: After charging electricity, separates its back feathers and lets out a massive blast of electricity. (Thunderblight, small chance of Paralysis)

Thunderclap: Claps its wings together, brushing the feathers together and shooting electricity forwards. (Paralysis)

Damage Calculation[]

Fire: Very weak (-20)

Water: Somewhat weak (-5)

Thunder: Resistant (+15)

Ice: Somewhat Resistant (+5)

Dragon: Neutral (0)

Rathling[]

Rathling is the second flying wyvern you fight in the game, after Khezu.

Monster List[]

A juvenile Rathian/Rathalos. Prized for its rare Plates, which are extremely fragile and thus hard to obtain. Although only a child, these Flying Wyverns have a terrifying trick up their sleeves - they are notorious tattle-tales that will call for help from their powerful parents when in danger.

Taxonomy[]

Kingdom: Animals

Phylum: Vertebrates

Class: Reptiles

Order: Wyverns

Family: Flying Wyverns

Genus/Species: Dracovolans bambina

In-Game Description[]

Rathling is a baby Flying Wyvern that is found exclusively in the Forested Spring. Its title is New Royalty, because it is the child of Rathian and Rathalos. It is of the Fire element and about the same size as the Great Jaggi. It's only weakness is Thunder, and can not only Pin hunters, but inflict Fireblight. The Rathling's attacks are almost identical to Rathian's, but weaker.

It'll feed on carcasses when low on stamina. When this happens, it cannot breathe fire. Also, it'll drop a Wyvern Tear. Flames will come out of its mouth when it is enraged. Also when enraged, it won't roar.

Items/Carves[]

Carving: Rathling Scale, Rathling Shell, Rathling Webbing, Flame Sac

Tail: Rathling Shell, Rathling Scale, Rathling Plate

Capturing: Rathling Webbing, Flame Sac, Rathling Plate, Rath Talon

Drops: Wyvern Tear, Rathling Scale, Rathling Plate

Rathling Plates are much rarer than Rathian or Rathalos Plates, as they are a lot more fragile. Like its parents, its head, wings, and tail can be broken/severed.

Attacks[]

Charge: Simply charges forward.

Side Bite: Bites to the side.

Tail Sweep: Swings its tail while turning to the side. Always does two.

Pounce: Scratches at the dirt, then leaps forward onto the target. (Pin)

Flame Breath: Shoots a single fireball in front of it. (Fireblight)

Backflip: Takes two steps, then backflips into the air, striking with its tail. Will always fall when doing this attack.

Jumping Fireball: Jumps back and shoots a fireball at the ground in front of it. Will always fall when doing this attack. (Fireblight)

Call for Parent: Rears its head back, then roars loudly, causing hunters to flinch. Summons Rathian/Rathalos. Doesn't do this attack when enraged.

Damage Calculation[]

Fire: Resistant (+15)

Water: Neutral (0)

Thunder: Very Weak (-15)

Ice: Neutral (0)

Dragon: Weak (-10)

Cerulean Qurupeco[]

The Cerulean Qurupeco is, obviously, a new subspecies of Qurupeco. You first fight it in Three-Star Quests.

Monster List[]

A subspecies of Qurupeco that loves cold areas. Using its wing claws to stimulate a chemical reaction, they batter hunters with storms of ice and soiling gas. They will flush their wings orange to intimidate attackers, and can also imitate the calls of large monsters.

Blue Qurupeco

Blue Qurupeco, the Azure Deceiver

Taxonomy[]

Kingdom: Animals

Phylum: Vertebrates

Class: Reptiles

Order: Wyverns

Family: Bird Wyverns

Genus/Species: Alimimus maritimus

In-Game Description[]

The Cerulean Qurupeco dwells exclusively in the Frozen Wastes. It bears the title of Azure Deciever, which is a little misleading, as its mimicry skills aren't as good as other Qurupecoes. It has the Ice element and inflicts Iceblight, Soiled, Sleep, and Ice Res Down. It has the weakness of Fire and is slightly larger than the Qurupeco. It has several new attacks, but loses some other abilities in return.

It feeds on fish when low on stamina. It cannot perform any "flint" attacks when low on stamina either. As with the other Qurupecoes, it drops a Wyvern Tear when its throat sac is damaged enough while it dances. White smoke occurs when it is enraged.

It can call in several different monsters, but it takes longer to call them in than the original Qurupeco. It can call Giggi, Baggi, Giaprey, Blango, Khezu, Great Baggi, Gigginox, Barioth, Blangonga, Tigrex, and Deviljho. It can only call the latter two during High-Rank Quests.

Items/Carves[]

Carving: Cerulean Quru Scale, Cerulean Quru Feather, Screamer, Vivid Feather, Monster Bone M, Strange Beak

Capturing: Cerulean Quru Feather, Crystalstone, Vivid Feather

Drops: Wyvern Tear, Cerulean Quru Feather

Like the other two in its genus, its beak and both flints can be broken. While its beak is damaged, it takes even longer to call in allies.

Attacks[]

Charge: Spontaneously charges forward while flapping.

Seed-Pecker: Pecks the ground four times.

Tail Whip: Spreads its tail and hops 180 degrees twice.

Crazy Dance: Expands its throat sac and sings a song which increases health, attack, defence, or sends hunters to sleep. (Sleep)

Back-Up Call (Minion): Stands tall, inflates its throat sac, and mimics the cry of a small monster.

Back-Up Call (Boss): Stands tall, inflates its throat sac, and twists its body while mimicking a large monster.

Great Gust: Bends down and flies into the air, using its tail to flick a gust of wind at the target.

Swooping Bite: While in the air, holds its head up, then swoops down and bites.

Wing Slash: Hops once, then jumps at the hunter, slicing with its wing.

Soiling Gas: Hops twice, inflates its throat sac, and sprays brown gas. (Soiled)

Aerial Bite: While in the air, moves over the target and bites downwards.

Crystal Clap: Knocks its flints together twice, then leaps at the target, crashing its flints together. (Iceblight)

Crystal Leap: Jumps back while crashing its flints together. (Iceblight)

Regurgitate: Stands on one leg, then spits three balls of mucus. (Ice Res Down)

Intimidate: When enraged, hops twice, then flares its wings and tail, turning them bright orange. This causes the hunter to fall backwards.

Damage Calculation[]

Fire: Weak (-15)

Water: Somewhat Resistant (+5)

Thunder: Weak (-10)

Ice: Very Resistant (+20)

Dragon: Neutral (0)

Lavender Barroth[]

The Lavender Barroth is a poisonous subspecies of Barroth. It is fought right after the Cerulean Qurupeco.

Monster List[]

Poisonous Brute Wyverns that live in jungles and forests. They are compared to human scientists, due to their habit of rolling in water to create armor out of their toxic sweat. Fighting these monsters in shallow water is dangerous - their footprints are toxic when wet.

Taxonomy[]

Kingdom: Animals

Phylum: Vertebrates

Class: Reptiles

Order: Wyverns

Family: Brute Wyverns

Genus/Species: Brutus lutamor chemisudor

In-Game Description[]

The Lavender Barroth is a species of Brute Wyvern that lives in the Idyllic Ocean and the Forested Spring. It is often called the Chemist Wyvern, because it's unseeable poison sweat can mix with water to form toxic, sludgy armor. It's attacks are almost identical to the Barroth and Jade Barroth. It has no element, but can inflict Waterblight and Poison. As with the other Barroths, it has two weaknesses. Its armor-coated areas are vulnerable to Thunder, while its exposed areas are weak to Ice.

When enraged, white smoke steams from its elevated nostrils. It feeds on flying insects such as Vespoid and Bnahabra when hungry. When its stamina gets low, it charges much slower. It drops an item when its armor is broken off. Interestingly, when it walks in water, it leaves toxic residue behind, due to its poisonous sweat.

Items/Carves[]

Carving: Lavender Barroth Shell, Lavender Barroth Ridge, Lavender Barroth Scalp, Barroth Claw

Tail: Barroth Tail, Lavender Barroth Ridge

Capturing: Lavender Barroth Scalp, Lavender Barroth Shell, Barroth Tail

Drops: Wyvern Tear, Congealed Sweat

All of its armor can be broken off, although this does not get rewarded for. Breaking its claws does, though. You can also sever and carve the crest and tail.

Attacks[]

Bull's Charge: Points its head to the ground and charges forward, ending with an uppercut with the head.

Slight Swing: Steps forward and shakes its head.

Powered Swing: Positions its head, then swings down and to the side.

U-Charge: Points away from the target, then makes a U-turn and hits from behind.

Tail Sweep: Swings its tail while turning to the side. Does two.

Hip Check: Points its side toward the target and smashes it into the target.

Head Crash: Growls and smashes its head into the ground, sending globs of poison flying. Can do two if the first misses. (Poison, Waterblight)

Toxin Shake: Growls, then shakes globs of poison off of its body. (Poison, Waterblight)

Toxic Tail Flick: Crouches a bit, then snaps its tail upwards, sending globs of poison flying in front of it. (Poison, Waterblight)

Damaga Calculation[]

Fire: Neutral (0)

Water: Resistant (+15)

Thunder: Weak/Neutral (-15/0)

Ice: Neutral/Weak (0/-15)

Dragon: Somewhat Weak (-5)

Smoky Gobul[]

The Smoky Gobul is a new subspecies of Gobul that is fought in Five-Star Quests.

Monster List[]

Strange leviathans that prefer to live on land. With glowing lanterns and an internal flame sac, Smoky Gobuls are not to be underestimated. Their deadliest trick is a sleep-inducing venom that is injected through their spines.

Taxonomy[]

Kingdom: Animals

Phylum: Vertebrates

Class: Reptiles

Order: Wyverns

Family: Leviathans

Genus/Species: Lataos terribilus terrestrius

Volcano Gobul

Volcanic Gobul, the Malevolent Trickster, and Taka's first cousin

In-Game Description[]

The Smoky Gobul, as the name suggests, is found naturally in the Magma Mountain. It is known as the Malevolent Trickster, as it can be even trickier than other Gobul (and that's saying something!). It possesses the element of Fire and is weak to both Water and Thunder. It can inflict Fireblight, Stun, and Sleep. Its attacks are mostly the same, but slightly different than, the other Gobul, as this creature is found exclusively on land.

When low on stamina, it will rest, out of bounds, in a lake and must be fished out with a frog, also causing it to drop an item. Alternatively, it may feed on small Aptonoth. It fails to perform its funnel attacks with low stamina, however its sleep skills cause instant sleep instead of drowsiness in this state. It will inflate its spines when enraged, with the addition of white smoke billowing from the mouth.

Items/Carves[]

Carving: Smoky Gobul Hide, Smoky Gobul Fin, Volcanic Gobul Spike, Flame Sac, Sleep Sac, Smoky Gobul Whisker

Tail: Smoky Gobul Spike, Smoky Gobul Fin

Capturing: Smoky Gobul Fin, Flame Sac, Sleep Sac, Smoky Gobul Hide

Drops: Wyvern Tear, Sleep Sac, Smoky Gobul Whisker

The head lantern can be broken, rendering it unable to use its flash attacks. This also grants a Gobul Lantern 100% of the time. The tail can be severed as well.

Attacks[]

Charge: Gallops forward, ending with a bite.

Wide Bite: Opens its vast maw, then chomps down hard. Can do two if the first misses.

Mud Lunge: Burrows into the ground, then emerges and performs the Wide Bite.

The Light: Sparks its lantern twice, then roars and creates a blinding flash. (Stun)

Pincushion: Inflates its back spines, then barrel rolls over the target.

Sleep Slap: Raises its tail, then swats the target. (Sleep)

Funnel of Death: Burrows into the ground, then emerges and exhales a fiery whirlwind. (Fireblight)

Body Slam: Rears up onto its hind fins, then crashes down.

Knockout Pain: Burrows into the ground, moves up the the target, and extends its spines. (Sleep)

Rapid-Fire Funnel: Takes two steps back, roars, and fires three whirlwinds in quick succession. (Fireblight)

Roar: Unlike regular Gobul, Volcanic Gobul can roar when enraged.

Damage Calculation[]

Fire: Resistant (+15)

Water: Weak (-15)

Thunder: Weak (-10)

Ice: Somewhat Resistant (+5)

Dragon: Neutral (0)

Mist Gigginox[]

The Mist Gigginox is a brand-new subspecies of the Gigginox. It is fought soon after the Smoky Gobul.

Mist Gigginox

Mist Gigginox, the Chilling Presence

Monster List[]

Loathesome wyverns that prefer cold, windy areas. They cannot climb well and instead attack from the air. Expelling excess water that instantly turns to ice and snow, no hunter will want to forget his/her Hot Drinks when fighting this monster.

Taxonomy[]

Kindgom: Animals

Phylum: Vertebrates

Class: Reptiles

Order: Wyverns

Family: Flying Wyverns

Sub-Family: Pseudowyverns

Genus/Species: Troglonox antruco calispand

In-Game Description[]

The Mist Gigginox, like the other two, is fought in the Frozen Wastes. However, during some Quests in the Barren Desert, the Mist Gigginox may appear at night. This is due to the colder temperature of the Barren Desert. Its title is the Chilling Presence. It fights with Ice element attacks, and possesses a great weakness to Thunder. It inflicts Iceblight and Snowman. This creature's attacks are radically different from the other Gigginoxes, as it cannot climb ceilings. However, its flight capabilities are greatly enhanced, allowing it to attack from above anyway.

When low on stamina, the Mist Gigginox will become unable to use projectile attacks and will feed on bones to recover. When enraged, its blood pressure shoots up and turns a pastel green color. It drops a Wyvern Tear when its underbelly has been damaged enough.

Items/Carves[]

Carving: Blue Flabby Hide, Blue Uncanny Hide, Blue Unnerving Talon, Pale Extract, Frost Sac

Capturing: Pale Extract, Blue Uncanny Hide, Blue Unnerving Talon, Blue Flabby Hide

Drops: Wyvern Tear, Pale Extract, Frost Sac

Like the Gigginox, its head, belly, and tail can be broken. If its head and belly are broken, there is a small chance that it will give a Fearsome Maw.

Attacks[]

Body Slam: Rears up on its hind legs and flops back down.

Misty Slam: Rears up on its hind legs, pauses, and flops to the ground, spraying snow and ice everywhere. (Iceblight)

Snowball Spit: Holds its head up like a cobra and spits a ball of frozen water. Can do this in the air as well.(Iceblight, Snowman)

Charge: Charges forward while expanding and contracting its maw.

Tail Slam: Raises its tail, then pounds it on the ground hard.

Acrobatics: Jumps in an arc, flipping itself so that it faces the other direction when it lands.

Aerial Tail Lash: In the air, flicks its tail upwards.

Sweeping Bite: Extends its neck and bites to the side, then does it again with more range.

Aerial Slam: In the air, stops flapping, then "pounces" forward, landing on its belly.

Snow Bomb: Expands its tail, and quickly "lays" a ball of snow that explodes soon after. (Iceblight)

Blizzard: While in the air, holds its head up and expels a very small cloud of snow from its belly. Then, madly flaps its wings while expelling a huge cloud of snow. (Iceblight, Snowman)

Damage Calculation[]

Fire: Resistant (+10)

Water: Neutral (0)

Thunder: Very Weak (-20)

Ice: Resistant (+15)

Dragon: Somewhat Weak (-5)

Glauxiturn[]

Glauxiturn is a crafty, owl-like Flying Wyvern. It is thought to be the evolutionary link between Flying and Bird Wyverns. It is fought in Six-Star Quests.

Glauturna

Glauturna, the Eyes in the Night

Monster List[]

Called the "Eyes in the Night" due to their fiery gaze. These owllike wyverns are thought to be the missing link between flying and bird wyverns. They are crafty enough to fly over deep water when pursued, and will shriek loudly to defend themselves. It is said that their only weakness is the dragon element...

Taxonomy[]

Kingdom: Animals

Phylum: Vertebrates

Class: Reptiles

Order: Wyverns

Family: Flying/Bird Wyverns

Genus/Species: Megaglaux terribilis

In-Game Description[]

The Glauxiturn is, personally, my favorite monster design. It lives in the Idyllic Ocean and the Wet Rainforest. It has no element, and its weakness, strangely, is Dragon. This may be a trait from its Flying Wyvern ancestors. It inflicts Stun and Waterblight, and can also Pin hunters. Its attack pattern is very similar to Barioth and Nargacuga. The Glauxiturn is cunning, and will actually hover over deep water. When it does this, hunters can pursue it, but must stay at the surface in order to hit it.

When low on stamina, it cannot gather the energy to perform sonic attacks. When this happens, it feeds on Rograt, a type of new Herbivore. When enraged, black smoke huffs from its beak. Strangely, it relies entirely on hearing in this state, increasing its vulnerability to loud noises. When Sonic Bombed while enraged, it will stumble and drop and item.

Items/Carves[]

Carving: Glauxiturn Feather, Glauxiturn Hide, Glauxiturn Scale, Screamer, Glauxiturn Spike, Cruel Beak, Magnificent Feather

Tail: Glauxiturn Tail, Glauxiturn Spike, Magnificent Feather

Capturing: Glauxiturn Spike, Glauxiturn Talon, Glauxiturn Hide, Screamer

Drops: Wyvern Tear, Glauxiturn Feather

Its head and both wings can be damaged. Doing this is rewarded with a Cruel Beak and Glauxiturn Talons. Its tail can also be cut off.

Attacks (land)[]

Leaping Peck: Does a little jump forward, then pounces forward several times, ending with a peck.

Sonic Blast: Rears its head back, then hoots loudly, creating a sonic projectile. Can also do this in the air.(Stun)

Tail Whip: Takes a quick step back, then swipes its tail in front of it.

Tail Spin: Holds its head up and hoots once, then spins 360 degrees, hitting the target with its tail.

Talon Jab: While in the air, quickly flies forward and strikes out with its talon.

Aerial Tackle: While in the air, rears back, then charges, skimming the ground and landing.

Sonic Beam: Raises its head, inhales, then produces a long, echoing hoot that creates a sonic beam. (Stun)

Aerial Tail Swipe: In the air, suddenly charges, then stops at the last second and swipes its tail upwards. This sends the target flying, and Glauxiturn catches it in its talons and, hovering, starts pecking at it. (Pin)

Slashing Fury: Jumps back with one wing back, then jumps forward and slashes with its talon. Often does two or three.

Roar: Shifts a little, then raises its head and hoots loudly.

Attacks (over water)[]

Sonic Blast: See "Attacks (land)"

Aerial Tackle: See "Attacks (land)"

Aerial Tail Swipe: See "Attacks (land)"

Talon Jab: See "Attacks (land)"

Watery Tail Swipe: Shakes its head, then flicks its tail upwards, sending a wave of water forward. (Waterblight)

Roar: Lowers its head and shakes it a little, then raises it and hoots loudly.

Damage Calculation[]

Fire: Resistant (+10)

Water: Very Resistant (+20)

Thunder: Weak (-10)

Ice: Neutral (0)

Dragon: Very Weak (-20)

Tawny Plesioth[]

The Tawny Plesioth is a new subspecies of Plesioth that is fought in Six-Star Quests.

Monster List[]

Monstrous piscene wyverns that swim through sandy deserts. They filter sand through their gills and spray it in order to blind enemies. However, they are most notorious for their whirlpools, which suck prey and predators alike into the sand to be ambushed.

Taxonomy[]

Kingdom: Animals

Phylum: Vertebrates

Class: Reptiles

Order: Wyverns

Family: Piscene Wyverns

Genus/Species: Caetus deinharena

In-Game Description[]

The Tawny Plesioth lives exclusively in the Barren Desert. It inflicts Waterblight and a new status called Blinded, which disables the camera controls and blurs the screen. Its element is Water, just like the other Plesioths, and its weakness is Thunder as usual. Its attack pattern is almost identical to its cousins, with the addition of new underground attacks.

When low on stamina, the Tawny Plesioth will feed on Delex, as well as become unable to use its projectile attacks. Like monsters such as Diablos and Cephadrome, it can be Sonic Bombed out of sand, causing it to flop around and drop a Wyvern Tear. Rage mode gives it the addition of black smoke huffing from its mouth.

Items/Carves[]

Carving: Tawny Plesioth Scale, Tawny Plesioth Fin, Plesioth Fang

Capturing: Small Lobstershell, Tawny Plesioth Fin, Tawny Plesioth Scale

Drops: Wyvern Tear, Piscene Fang

The head, back fin, and both wings can be damaged. All three give Tawny Plesioth Fins and Small Lobstershells.

Attacks[]

Slithering Charge: Slithers forward on its belly. Does this right after emerging from sand.

Side Bite: Simply bites to the side.

Tail Sweep: Swings its tail while turning to the side. Always does two.

Hip Check: Positions its side toward the target, then slams its hip into it.

Burrowing Charge: While in the sand, swims forward with a cloud of dust behind it and strikes the target with its fin. (Blinded)

Chicken Charge: Rears its head up and runs while waving its tail. Will always dive into the sand afterwards.

Sand Beam: Rears its head back and shoots a sandy projectile in front of it. (Waterblight)

Sweeping Sand Beam: Stands tall and shoots a sand beam while sweeping its head around. (Waterblight)

Rising Sand Beam: Stands tall, bends its head, and shoots a sand beam while slowly raising its head. (Waterblight)

Soaring Jump: Jumps out of the sand, causing a huge wave of dust and staying in the air for a while before crashing to the ground. (Blinded)

Burrowing Lunge: While in the sand, dives under and causes a quake. Then jumps out at the target and ending with a Slithering Charge.

Whirlpool: On land, dives headfirst into the sand. Then, raises its fin aboveground and swims rapidly around the target. A whirlpool forms and when something is dragged to the center, the Tawny Plesioth rockets out of the sand and into the target.

Roar: Unlike Plesioth and Green Plesioth, Tawny Plesioth can roar loudly when enraged.

Damage Calculation[]

Fire: Weak (-10)

Water: Resistant (+15)

Thunder: Very Weak (-20)

Ice: Resistant (+10)

Dragon: Somewhat Weak (-5)

Crimson Uragaan[]

Crimson Uragaan is a new subspecies of Uragaan. It is fought right after Tawny Plesioth.

Monster List[]

These brute wyverns have harder shells than most, allowing them to live in a variety of climates. They smash ore to bits with their mighty chins, but enemies are also in danger of this fate. They spew toxic gases that burn the lungs and throat when inhaled.

Taxonomy[]

Kingdom: Animals

Phylum: Vertebrates

Class: Reptiles

Order: Wyverns

Family: Brute Wyverns

Genus/Species: Pestilimentum vermiculus

In-Game Description[]

The Crimson Uragaan is a versatile Brute Wyvern found not only in the Magma Mountain, but the Idyllic Ocean as well. Its title is the Red Hammer, but hunters often call it the Crimson Chin. It has no element, but can inflict Paralysis and a new status ailment called Intoxicated, which not only drains health, but stamina as well! It has a much larger defense stat than the regular Uragaan, due to its thick shell. Its attacks are very similar as well.

Like the Uragaan, it will feed on rocks and ore to recover stamina. When low on stamina, it will trip after rolling. Black smoke is emitted from the mouth when it is enraged. Its heels are not vulnerable as with the Uragaan, so its only weak spot is the stomach. Its elemental weakness is Water.

Crimson Uragaan

Crimson Uragaan, aka The Crimson Chin

Items/Carves[]

Carving: Crimson Uragaan Scale, Crimson Uragaan Shell, Bright Red Jaw, Uragaan Marrow, Paralysis Sac, Crimson Uragaan Scute

Tail: Crimson Uragaan Scale, Uragaan Marrow

Capturing: Crimson Uragaan Shell, Bright Red Jaw, Crimson Uragaan Scute, Uragaan Marrow

Drops: Wyvern Tear, Uragaan Marrow, Paralysis Sac

The chin and tail can be broken, and the tail can be severed as well.

Attacks[]

Rock n' Roll: Rears its head back, then curls into a ball and rolls toward the target. If it takes longer to ready this attack, it will come around for a second go before stopping.

Mustard Gas: Rears onto its hind legs, then lowers itself and sprays yellow/green gas around it. (Intoxicated)

Chin Smash: Rears its head to the side, then pounds its chin on the ground twice. Will always do two.

Super Chin Smash: Slowly rears up, then smashes its chin on the ground.

Shoulder Charge: Holds back, then charges sideways.

Tail Swing: Raises its tail, then turns and whips it to the side, throwing up to three pieces of ore that contain paraylzing venom. These will explode when struck by a direct attack or a quake. (Paralysis)

Tail Pound: Looks back and raises its tail, then smashes it on the ground once.

Rolling Smash: Performs the Rock n' Roll, but stops in front of the target and ends by slamming its chin into the ground.

Chin Flip: Takes a step back and roars, then charges forward. After a few steps, digs its chin into the ground and uses the momentum to flip onto its back.

Roar: Rears up and roars loudly. Always follows up with a Chin Smash.

Damage Calculation[]

Fire: Resistant (+15)

Water: Very Weak (-20)

Thunder: Resistant (+10)

Ice: Somewhat Weak (-5)

Dragon: Weak (-10)

Agsolestea[]

Agsolestea is a brand new monster that is of a completely new monster type. It is also the flagship monster for MH3D, along with its subspecies.

NOTE: Agsolestea can only be fought on land, but it will occasionally swim when in the Idyllic Ocean. Don't worry, it only does this to get to certain areas and will not attack.

Monster List[]

Feared even by experienced hunters, these serpentine beasts are not to be taken lightly. Absorbing sunlight through their crests and attacking with lasers, Agsolesteas are even smart enough to take revenge on creatures that defeat it in combat.

Agsolstea

Agsolstea, the Sun Devil

Taxonomy[]

Kingdom: Animals

Phylum: Vertebrates

Class: Reptiles

Order: Wyverns

Family: Wyrms

Genus/Species: Agkistrodon solegatus

In-Game Information[]

Agsoelstea is a Wyrm, a new monster type introduced in MH3D. It is loosely based off of a cottonmouth, my favorite animal. It has no element. Its weakness is Thunder and inflicts a whopping four statuses; Illumination, Poison, Stun, and Pin. Its attack pattern is similar to Leviathans, but possesses several completely new attacks. It lives in the Idyllic Ocean and the Forested Spring.

When low on stamina, Agesolstea will curl up in a sunny area and restore it by sunbathing. It cannot perform any projectile attacks in this state, even if it charges up. When enraged, its eyes will glow an ominous green. When its head is broken, it will drop a Wyvern Tear.

Agsolestea moves by lowering its head to the ground and slithering, but when in one place, it stands and attacks with its head held up high. It also wildly thrashes around when it is knocked over, making it difficult to injure the head or tail.

Naturally, Agsolestea has its own music theme. It sounds very "Indian", even incorporating the sound of a snake charmer's flute into it.

Items/Carves[]

Carving: Agsolestea Hide, Agsolestea Scale, Agsolestea Fang, Light Organ

Tail: Agsolestea Tail, Agsolestea Scale, Agsolestea Plate

Capturing: Agsolestea Fang, Agsolestea Hide, Light Organ, Agsolestea Plate

Drops: Wyvern Tear, Agsolestea Scale, Agsolestea Plate

Its head, stomach, and tail can be broken. Additionally, its tail can be severed and carved. Breaking the head yields a 60% chance of getting an Agsolestea Frill.

Attacks[]

Low Bite: Lowers its head to the ground and bites twice.

Tail Snap: Swings its head all the way behind it, then snaps its tail back.

Monster List[]

A male Agsolestea which sleeps in shadow. Gathering power from darkness, it attacks with constriction, venom, and dark powers. Beware - in breeding season, these deadly creatures are never alone, seeking help from a female to take down any attacker.

Taxonomy[]

Kindgom: Animals

Phylum: Vertebrates

Class: Reptiles

Order: Wyverns

Family: Wyrms

Genus/Species: Agkistrodon solegatus

In-Game Description[]

The Dark Agsolestea is found in the Frozen Wastes, but will journey to the Forested Spring during the breeding season to seek a female Agsolestea. Like its counterpart, it is weak to Thunder, and inflicts Poison and Pin. However, it also inflicts Dragonblight and Blinded. Along with the Agsolestea, it is the final offline boss. Its title is the Shadow King.

Like the Agsolestea, it cannot use projectile attacks when low on stamina, even after charging up. When enraged, its eyes don't glow green but red. It will drop an item when its head is broken. However, it will sleep in a very dark area to restore its stamina, as it somehow draws strength from the shadows.

It shares the Agsolestea's attacks and music theme.

Eelekiose[]

Eelekiose is a Wyrm that is fought in the High-Rank Five-Star Quests. It is the only Wyrm to be fought both on land and in the water.

Monster List[]

Eel-like monsters that prowl coastlines. Dedicated man-eaters, they will take every opportunity they can get to snatch an unsuspecting child from its mother. Strangely, they are edible, but only the guts can be eaten without shocking results.

Taxonomy[]

Kindgom: Animals

Phylum: Vertebrates

Class: Reptiles

Order: Wyverns

Family: Wyrms

Genus/Species: Aquatilium fulgur

In-Game Description[]

The Eelekiose is found in the Wet Rainforest and the watery areas of the Military Bastion. Its element is Thunder, and its weakness is Fire. It can inflict Thunderblight and Pin. It can be fought underwater, and in the water it keeps several of its land attacks. Its Latin name, Aquatilium fulgur, means Aquatic Lightning, which is also its title.

When enraged, its eyes will start to crackle with electricity. To recover stamina, it will eat an Epioth. However, this is very rare, as it can only lose stamina on land, as it uses up a layer of oxygen stored in its skin. If it does lose its stamina, it cannot perform Thunder attacks. Underwater, it is MUCH deadlier, as it is not only more manueverable, but its Thunder attacks are conducted by the water, unlike other aquatic monsters such as the Lagiacrus. As well, it may drop a Wyvern Tear when it uses a Thunder attack underwater.

It moves similarly to Agsolestea and Dark Agsolestea. However, it does not share their music theme.

Items/Carves[]

Molokonyx

Molokonyx, the Vengeful Scythe

In-Game Description[]

The Molokonyx is a Deviljho-like Brute Wyvern that inhabits the Forested Spring and Wet Rainforest. Ironically, its only weakness is Water. It is of the Dragon element, and can inflict Dragonblight and Stun, as well as Paralysis when enraged. It is known informally as the Vengeful Scythe, which refers to its brutal nature and its blade-like forearms.

When enraged, its blades seep paralyzing toxins and its back fin sticks up. Its favorite meals are Aptonoth and Rograt, which it will eat when low on stamina. When in this state, it will trip when it lunges. Unlike Deviljho, it can perform its Wyvern Breath attack when calm. When both of its arms are damaged, it will drop an item. When its horn or claws dull from repeated attacks, it will sharpen them.

It shares Deviljho's theme.

Warlaros[]

The existence of this creature is only rumor. It is said to be a Flying Wyvern with a very large, bladed horn on its head. It has only been spotted in the Military Bastion, and is supposed to be a vicious fighter. The few eyewitnesses to its first and only attack say that its bite is venomous and that it spits gaseous emissions, but no one has confirmed it.

More information on the mysterious Warlaros will be added as soon as it appears again. The Guild will hire hunters to take it on in a High-Rank Six-Star Quest, which, normally, hire hunters to take on powerful Elder Dragons. The Hunter's Guild is taking no chances with this mysterious and fearsome Flying Wyvern.

UPDATE: Warlaros Information[]

Warlaros is a new Flying Wyvern that is fought in High-Rank Six-Star Quests. It is similar to Gurunzeburu from Monster Hunter Frontier.

Monster List[]

Known only from a few eyewitness accounts, the Warlaros is a barbaric flying wyvern that is rarely seen. It enjoys taking over other creatures' territories, then moving on to conquer more. Its bite is poisonous and it spits deadly gases, but it may have other tricks up its sleeves...

Taxonomy[]

Order: Wyverns

Family: Flying Wyverns

Genus/Species: Dracovolans daemonia

Warlaros

Warlaros, the Wyvern Warlord

In-Game Information[]

Warlaros is a Flying Wyvern that fights like a combination of Rathalos and Gurunzeburu. It is found only in the Military Bastion. Its weakness is Dragon, and it has no element. It inflicts Poison and Defence Down, and can Pin hunters. It is called the Warlord Wyvern due to its habit of conquering the territories of other wyverns.

Warlaros will feed on a large monster's carcass to recover stamina (there is one in a certain area of the Bastion). Before it does this, it will become unable to use its projectile attacks, and will trip after using a charge or lunge move. It will drop when it is paralyzed or put to sleep. When enraged, its scars will turn bright red and it will breathe black smoke.

Warlaros has its own music theme, a very ominous soundtrack with a lot of chanting and the sound of pipe organs.

Items/Carves[]

Scoliarch[]

Hunters gathering items in the Barren Desert's sandier areas have come back with a strange report. Apparently, they were mining for Crystal Bones when a terrfying Neopteron appeared. They said it almost "crushed them like roaches" and poisoned one of their party with its bite.

This is hardly the first time this creature has been spotted in the Barren Desert. Strangely, the same monster has also been sighted in the Magma Mountain as well as the Ancient Spire. The Guild has called this Neopteron the Scoliarch. When it is sighted again, more information will be posted here.

UPDATE: Scoliarch Information[]

Scoliarch is a new Neopteron that shares a lot of its traits with Wyrms.

Monster List[]

A strange and terrifying Neopteron that inhabits dry areas. It attacks by rolling into a ball and charging at enemies. It produces a flammable gas that reacts with oils on its shell, giving it fire capabilities. Be cautious if its shell is broken...

Scoliarch

Scoliarch, the Flaming Wheel

Taxonomy[]

Kingdom: Animals

Phylum: Invertebrates

Class: Myriapods

Order: Neopterons

Family: Flightless Neopterons

Genus/Species: Scolapendra maximus

In-Game Information[]

The Scoliarch is a centipede-like Neopteron that fights in a similar manner to Agsolstea and other Wyrms. It is known as the Flaming Wheel, because it produces a gas that can light it on fire by igniting oils on its shell. Its weakness is Ice and its element is Fire. It can inflict Fireblight, Poison, and Defence Down, as well as Pin.

It will drop an item when its head is broken and will fail to perform its poison attacks when low on stamina. It recovers stamina by eating an Aptonoth. When enraged, its eyes glow yellow instead of green. When its shell is broken twice, it will burst into flames, as its gases will leak out and ignite it. It will remain like this for the entire battle.

Instead of sharing a theme with other Wyrms, it has its own music theme, a very upbeat theme that reminds hunters to keep on their toes when fighting this monster.

Items/Carves[]

Carving: Scoliarch Shell, Scoliarch Hide, Scoliarch Leg, Scoliarch Jaw, Poison Sac

Capturing: Scoliarch Jaw, Scoliarch Shell, Scoliarch Plate

Cold Scoliarch[]

The Cold Scoliarch is a subspecies of the Scoliarch.

Monster List[]

A frigid subspecies of Neopteron, the Cold Scoliarch prefers cold, wet environments such as swamps and tundra. It releases ultracold gas that instantly freezes its shell, then attacks with freezing cold physical moves. Poisonous, it sprays venom to weaken prey.

Taxonomy[]

Kingdom: Animals

Phylum: Invertebrates

Class: Myriapods

Order: Neopterons

Family: Flightless Neopterons

Genus/Species: Scolapendra maximus frigidus

In-Game Information[]

The Cold Scoliarch is a subspecies of Scoliarch found in the Wet Rainforest, Frozen Wastes, and Ancient Spire. It is called the Frigid Wheel, for good reason. It, like the Scoliarch, releases gases to react with its shell, but instead of igniting itself, it freezes itself and attacks with the Ice element. Obviously, its weakness is Fire. It inflicts Iceblight, Poison, Defence Down, and Pin.

As with the Scoliarch, it feeds on Aptonoth when low on stamina, although it will take down Popo in the Frozen Wastes. Again, it drops when its head is broken and cannot spit poison when low on stamina. It shares the Scoliarch's music theme. When its shell is broken twice, it will instantly and permanently freeze over. Although this doesn't damage the hunter like the other Scoliarch, it will sharply increase the Cold Scoliarch's defence.

Items/Carves[]

Carving: Cold Scoliarch Shell, Cold Scoliarch Hide, Cold Scoliarch Leg, Scoliarch Jaw, Poison Sac

Capturing: Scoliarch Jaw, Cold Scoliarch Shell, Scoliarch Plate

Gas Release: Raises its head and releases a small cloud of gas, then releases a much larger cloud that envelops it. Right after this attack, Cold Scoliarch can use any ice attack before thawing out. (Def. Down, Iceblight)

Constrict: "Crouches", then throws itself forward, coiling around the target. Then, starts to squeeze, draining the target's health. (Pin)

Icy Roll: Performs Rolling Wheel, but ice has been added. (Iceblight)

Jade Alatreon[]

Deep in the ancient forests, there is supposedly a region where twisted plants grow. It is highly radioactive and a danger to hunters to visit for too long. However, scientists in radiation-proof armor studying the region were shocked to see an Elder Dragon land in the area. Their description of the beast was remarkably similar to the monster known as Alatreon. However, they said it had green scales and wings that were supposed to be too small for flight, yet somehow it flew. They also described a curious sensation when it got too close, in which their bodies felt like they were becoming lighter.

As with Warlaros and Scoliarch, hunters will be approved to hunt in this area, called the Radiation Field, as soon as a radiation-proof Decoration is created. Stay alert, hunters... The upcoming information will be vital in slaying this dangerous monster.

Jade Alatreon

The Jade Alatreon is a new subspecies of Alatreon in MH3D.

Monster List[]

An largely unknown Elder Dragon that flies using levitation. Able to spit radioactive chemicals, it lives in a faraway, deserted field where not even Vespoids can live. Its abilities are in question, but they might have something to do with its leviation power...

Taxonomy[]

Kingdom: Animals

Phylum: Vertebrates

Class: Reptiles

Order: Elder Dragons

Family: Manipulative Elder Dragons

Genus/Species: Draco anciens gravinebra

In-Game Information[]

The Jade Alatreon is an Elder Dragon that is fought in a new area called the Radiation Field. It harbours a completely new ability, the power to control gravity. Using this power, it can inflict two new statuses, Anti-Grav and Super-Grav. It can also inflict the Intoxicated ailment. It has no element and is weak to Ice, but very resistant to Dragon. Its title is the Nuclear Darkness.

When enraged, it will roar, causing radioactive geysers to erupt, inflicting Intoxicated. Unlike Alatreon, it cannot switch its element, but it does have several new and deadly attacks. Breaking its horns will render it unable to levitate, but it will still be able to inflict its statuses. It also shares Alatreon's music theme.

Items/Carves[]

Carving: Jade Alatreon Plate, Jade Alatreon Scute, Jade Alatreon Talon, Brkn Skypiercer, ElderDragonBlood, Emerald Dragongem

Tail: Jade Alatreon Tail, Jade Alatreon Plate, Emerald Dragongem

Galauria[]

Occasionally, over a peaceful grassland, a mysterious and magnificent Elder Dragon appears. Only the best hunters are allowed to try and slay it, as it is one of the most powerful Elder Dragons alive. Some say that it can turn itself into a storm of black lightning, and still more say that it can heal its wounds taken in battle... However, this is all still rumor.

The Elder Dragon called Galauria has appeared once again, and can be taken on in the last Six-Star Urgent Quest. Anyone who can slay it will be known as a master fighter everywhere. More information will be posted as hunters continue to get ready for their biggest challenge.

UPDATE: Galauria Information[]

Galauria is a new species of Elder Dragon. It is technically the final boss of Monster Hunter Tri Destiny.

Monster List[]

A golden, elegant Elder Dragon. Occasionally appearing in wide, vast fields, it is easily angered by humans. Facts are in short supply, but some say that it can heal itself, and others say that it can turn into a lightning storm...

Taxonomy[]

Galauria

Galauria, the Healing Fury

In-Game Information[]

Galauria is the end-game boss in MH3D. It is an Elder Dragon, and it is of the Dragon element. Additionally, its weakness is Dragon, and it inflicts Dragonblight, as well as Pinning hunters. It is the only Elder Dragon that can do this. It lives near the Mystic Tower, on a peaceful grassland, and its title is the Healing Fury. It uses a system of specially evolved blood vessels to produce massive amounts of dragonic energy.

Galauria attacks similarly to Flying Wyverns such as Rathalos, and spends the entire battle in the air, like Amatsumagatsuchi. When enraged, its fluffy head, back, and wing feathers blaze with black lightning, giving most of its physical moves the Dragon element. Breaking its head twice results in permanent rage, but its crest will disappear, disabling its Crest Lash attack. It is just as vulnerable to status ailments as other Elder Dragons, but will perform a move that neutralizes these status ailments, restoring a minute amount of health in the process. It can even perform this attack while asleep and paralyzed.

Its music theme is a mystical one, sometimes calm, sometimes epic. It has a lot of chimes and drums in it, as well as some chanting.

Items/Carves[]

Carving: Galauria Feather, Galauria Down, Galauria Talon, Dragonic Vessel, ElderDragonBlood, Golden Dragongem

Tail: GalauriaTailFeather, Galauria Feather, Galauria Plate, Golden Dragongem

Its head and wings can be broken twice, and its tail can be broken before being severed. Breaking the head both times will reward a Heaven's Crest, but will result in Galauria attaining permanent rage status. Breaking both wings may reward a Galauria Plate.

Attacks[]

Skimming Charge: Rears back and then charges, skimming the ground with its talons. (Dragonblight when enraged)

Talon Jab: Suddenly shoots forward, jabbing at the target with a claw. Unlike monsters such as the Rathian, the Galauria remains in the air after this attack.

Aerial Peck: Moves over the target, then pecks downwards once.

Aerial Dragonfire: Rears its head back for two seconds, then spits a large ball of dragon energy. (Dragonblight)

Wing Swipe: Hangs back in the air, then sweeps its wing in front of it, sending small feathers shooting forward. These feathers cause minute damage, and the wing itself is more deadly. When enraged, the feathers are coated in dragon energy. (Dragonblight when enraged)

Crest Lash: Shakes its head and looks down slightly, then throws its head back and snaps it forward, lashing out with its crest. (Dragonblight when enraged)

Flying Torpedo: Flies around for a bit, then assumes a pose in the air. Then, rockets forward in the air while spinning like a torpedo. When enraged, it moves in a corkscrewing motion. (Dragonblight when enraged)

Dragonstorm: First, it screeches loudly and flaps its wings once. Then, it surrounds itself with a ball of dragonic energy and flies around wildly. (Dragonblight)

Wrathful Dragonstorm: When enraged, the Galauria will slowly rise into the air with its wings outstretched. Then, it surrounds itself with a ball of energy. Finally, it shrieks with anger and sends black lightning bolts shooting out from it to strike multiple targets. (Dragonblight)

Healing Song: Slowly rises into the air with wings outstretched, then wraps them around itself and begins to sing. Beams of light emanate from it while it sings, then it glows bright gold. This will heal any status ailments it has and also restores a small amount of health.

Dragonic Beam: Flies around slowly while emitting a red/black beam from its mouth, sweeping it around as well. (Kind of like Alatreon or Kushala Daora.)

Pinning Whirlwind: Performs a deafening shriek, different from its normal one, then aims at a target and starts flying quickly around it. The target is lifted into the air and continually dealt damage by the Galauria, which is flying around at very high speed. Somehow, the target can manage to hit it with a Dung Bomb to break free.

Roar: Rears its head back, then lowers it and screeches in a melodious voice.

Taltaira[]

"The God of the Skies, the Taltaira, has appeared! I saw its enormous body block out the sun as it flew over our village! I swear! Please, send hunters to drive this bringer of fear away!"

Hunters are currently massing in order to drive this threat out of the region. More information will be supplied at a later date, but be prepared, hunters - be prepared for a duel that will literally take it to the skies.

Mossy Agnaktor[]

A strange Leviathan has been sighted in the Wet Rainforest by two frightened rookie hunters. They said that it looked like an Agnaktor, which the Guild has proclaimed ridiculous, as everyone knows that Agnaktors don't ever venture into the Wet Rainforest. However, if this account is true and the beast is sighted again, the Guild will instantly dispatch a group of hunters to the region to investigate.

UPDATE: Moss Agnaktor Info[]

The Moss Agnaktor is a new Leviathan, which is a subspecies of Agnaktor. You can fight it in High-Rank village Quests.

Monster List[]

A Leviathan that swaddles itself in shrubbery to protect its earthy hide. Due to burrowing through mud and not rock, its beak is short and dull, and it sprays high-pressured dirt from an internal storage sac. Beware, as if it spends too much time above ground, its mossy armor will grow back.

Taxonomy[]

Kingdom: Animals

Phylum: Vertebrates

Class: Reptiles

Order: Wyverns

Family: Leviathans

Genus/Species: Crocodilimorph muscarma

Mossy Agnaktor

Mossy Agnaktor, the Swaddled Armor

In-Game Description[]

The Moss Agnaktor is found exclusively in the Wet Rainforest. It shares multiple attacks with its fiery and icy counterparts, but it has a few brand-new attacks. Its weakness is Ice, and it has no element. Like other Agnaktors, the Moss Agnaktor's armor will disappear and reappear when the conditions are right. When it burrows or uses a certain attack, the moss and plants growing on its body will be scraped off. This allows hunters to successfully penetrate its hide. However, the longer it stays aboveground, the invisible seeds and spores of rainforest plants will attach to its hide and grow freely, forming a new set of armor.

The Moss Agnaktor cannot fire its earthen lasers when low on stamina. When this happens, it will feed on an Aptonoth. When it burrows, it will become vulnerable to Sonic Bombs for a second or two. When Sonic Bombed in this way, it may drop a shiny. As long as it has its soft, springy armor, weapons will always bounce off. It can inflict Stun, and sometimes Muddy as well.

Items/Carves[]

Carving: Moss Agnaktor Scale, Moss Agnaktor Cloak, Agnaktor Hide, Agnaktor Claw, Earth Crystal

Tail: Moss Agnaktor Tail, Moss Agnaktor Fin, Earth Crystal

Capturing: Agnaktor Hide, Moss Agnaktor Scale, Moss Agnaktor Fin, Agnaktor Claw, Earth Crystal

Drops: Wyvern Tear, Moss Agnaktor Cloak, Earth Crystal

As with the other Agnaktors, the beak, shoulder, fin, chest, tail, and each claw can be broken. Breaking the beak and claws results in a Moss Agnaktor Beak and Agnaktor Claw, respectively. Whenever a part is broken, your weapon will not bounce off of it when Moss Agnaktor is in armor mode.

Attacks[]

Charge: Simply crawls forward.

Low Bite: Lowers its head to the ground and bites twice.

Body Slam: Rears up on its hind legs and slams into the ground. (Muddy, no armor)

Crazed Peck: Crawls forward and forcefully pecks the ground four times. (Muddy)

Tail Snap: Swings its head all the way behind it, then snaps its tail back. (Stun, armor)

Hip Check: Positions its side toward the target, then slams into the target. Does two sometimes.

Slip n' Slide: Lowers its head and arches its back, then rapidly slides forward. When enraged, the Mossy Agnaktor can home in on the target. (Stun, armor)

Burrowed Rocket: While underground, pokes its beak out of the ground and creates a small fissure in the ground. Then, shoots out of the ground, slamming into the target. Uses this to get back aboveground.

Fin Slice: While underground, it will partially resurface, then swim through the earth toward the target, using its fin to attack. (Muddy)

Burrowing Dolphin: While underground, pokes its beak out without any accompanying fissure, then jumps at the target, burrowing back into the ground and trying again. Often does three or four.

Earthen Laser: Raises its head while snapping its beak, then lowers its head while shooting a beam of dirt straight ahead. (Stun)

Burrowed Laser: While underground, heaves its torso aboveground while propping itself up with its legs. Then snaps its beak and fires an earth beam that it sweeps the perimeter with.

Rapid-Fire Laser: Raises its head, pauses, then forcefully snaps its beak twice. Then lowers its head and shoots three short earth beams left, right, and in front. It often uses the left and right beams to "box in" a target, then nails it with the center one. (Stun)

Roar: Wiggles its head and slightly opens its mouth, then screeches loudly.

Damage Calculation[]

Fire: Weak (-10)

Water: Resistant (+15)

Thunder: Neutral (0)

Ice: Very Weak (-20)

Dragon: Somewhat Weak (-5)

Hellish Agsolestea[]

Deep in the volcanic caverns of the Elder Realm, an Akantor has been reported fleeing for its life. This has behaviour has never been reported in the history of the Guild, meaning that some new monster must have made its home there - something even bigger and fiercer than the Black God.

UPDATE: A group of scientists and hunters traveling to the Elder Realm have reported two additional points of note. The first is that the perpetrator isn't "some new monster" - it's in fact older than anything ever seen. The second is that it appears to be some kind of Agsolestea - an Agsolestea that breathes fire and that doesn't need to charge up in order to do it. Only one scientist got back alive.

UPDATE: Jet Agsolstea Info[]

The Jet Agsolestea, like the Rare Lagiacrus and Nargacuga, is a rare subspecies of its "main" species, in this case Agsolestea. This one is fought in the Elder Realm.

Monster List[]

Recently discovered to be living in the Elder Realm, the Jet Agsolestea is a foul, volcanic serpent that constantly produces energy. If it willingly kicks this production into high gear, watch out! Not even the best hunters can survive its enhanced firepower.

Rare Agsolstea

Rare Agsolstea, the Volcanic Doom

Taxonomy[]

Kingdom: Animals

Phylum: Vertebrates

Class: Reptiles

Order: Wyverns

Family: Wyrms

Genus/Species: Agkistrodon solegatus tartarus

In-Game Description[]

Like the regular and Dark Agsolestea, the Jet Agsolestea is a Wyrm. It is one of the only monsters to be completely immune to elemental damage, and so weapons with high raw power should be prioritized when fighting it. It can inflict Fireblight, Intozicated, and Pin. Its title is the Volcanic Doom and its element is Fire.

Unlike the others of its species, the Jet Agsolestea doesn't have to charge up in order to use its elemental attacks. However, it still possesses the charging attack common to Wyrms. Using this makes its elemental attacks much deadlier and adds a new effect to some of its physical moves - a fiery laser beam. Breaking the head makes it behave identically to normal Agsolestea. It cannot run out of stamina and it cannot be captured.

It doesn't share the Agsolestea's theme, instead incorporating the Tower theme from MHFU.

Its physical appearance gives it the impression that it is made out of rock and magma. Even its mouth glows, strengthening this impression.

Items/Carves[]

Carving: Volcanic Hide, Volcanic Scale, Volcanic Fang, Inferno Sac

Tail: Volcanic Tail, Volcanic Scale, Volcanic Plate

Drops: Wyvern Tear, Volcanic Scale, Volcanic Plate

Its head, stomach, and tail can be broken. Additionally, its tail can be severed and carved. Breaking the head yields a chance of getting a Volcanic Frill. It will drop when its head is broken as well.

Attacks[]

Low Bite: Lowers its head to the ground and bites twice.

Tail Snap: Swings its head all the way behind it, then snaps its tail back.

Hip Check: Positions its side toward the target, then slithers sideways, slamming itself into the target.

Charge: Lowers its head and archs its back, then rapidly slides forward.

Deadly Venom Spit: Bubbles at the mouth, then shoots a glob of poison in front of it. (Intoxicated)

Body Slam: Throws its head and neck way back, then smashes its entire front into the ground.

Tail Smash: Throws its tail up, then smashes it on the ground. This attack can be aimed.

Super Flame Gather: Its frills start glowing even more intensely, then a wave of flames ensues while it screeches. After this attack, its elemental attacks become more deadly, and it adds a Fire Beam to some of its physical moves. (Fireblight)

Flame Gather: Its frills start glowing, then a small wave of fire ensues while it screeches. It only does this when its head is broken. (Fireblight)

Fire Ball: Shakes its head and lowers it slightly, then lowers its head to the ground and releases a ball of flames that travels across the ground. If it has performed Super Flame Gather, then the projectile will be twice as big and will explode violently when it hits. (Fireblight)

Fire Beam: Wiggles its head and tail and screams, then lowers its head to the ground and fires a laser beam. This attack can be aimed as well. If it has performed Super Flame Gather, then the laser will be double in diameter.(Fireblight)

Additional Fire Beam: After performing Super Flame Gather, it will add a Fire Beam to one of its physical moves, dramatically increasing its range. These attacks can be: Tail Snap, Hip Check, Body Slam, or Low Bite. (Fireblight)

Constrict: "Crouches", then throws itself forward, coiling around the target. Then, starts to squeeze, draining the target's health. (Pin)

Lava Charge: First, it burrows into the ground, then reappears in a lava pool. Then performs the startup animation for its Charge attack, except it is now covered in lava and will slither rapidly out of the pool, sliding around the area until all of the lava drips off. (Fireblight)

Roar: Wiggles its head and opens its mouth, then screeches loudly.

Damage Calculation[]

Fire: Very Resistant (+20)

Water: Neutral (0)

Thunder: Neutral (0)

Ice: Resistant (+10)

Dragon: Somewhat Resistant (+5)

Sulfurous Brachydios and Ebony Brachydios[]

Two new monsters were discovered yesterday, both belonging to the same species. One was a yellow Brachydios-like creature, found in the Barren Desert. The hunters that barely escaped for their lives reported it had powerful Plasma-element attacks and the power to spray a yellow powder from its mouth, one that intoxicated the hunters. More information will be available soon as the Guild prepares to slay the beast.

The second monster was never actually seen by the hunting party journeying to the newly discovered Hellish Abyss. The only hunter that survived the expedition said he only saw red Plasma, fire geysers, and a black shape moving about in the darkness. He reported a Brachydios-like roar as it triumphantly stood over his companions' corpses... The Guild is currently looking for a team of the most elite hunters available to journey back to the Hellish Abyss and slay this new menace.

UPDATE: Sulfurous Brachydios Info[]

The Sulfurous Brachydios is a new subspecies of Brachydios that is found in the Barren Desert.

Monster List[]

Also known as Yellow Slime Wyverns, the Sulfurous Brachydios utilizes a unique plasma that slowly but powerfully detonates. Building their nests in volcanic sinkholes in the deserts, they can spray a sulphurous gas at opponents. Slow to anger, but watch out when they do become angry!

Taxonomy[]

Kindgom: Animals

Phylum: Vertebrates

Class: Reptiles

Family: Wyverns

Order: Brute Wyverns

Genus/Species: Brutus limowyvernus sulphurespa

In-Game Information[]

The Sulfurous Brachydios is a yellow Brute Wyvern that is a subspecies of Brachydios. It lives in the Barren Desert and inflicts the statuses Plasma and Intoxicated. It has no element, and its weakness is Water. It is known as the Yellow Slime. It has several new and unique attacks unlike those of Brachydios.

It is able to perform multiples of different attacks, such as a multi-lunge and a multi-fist pound. It can also spray yellow gas from its mouth that inflicts Intoxicated. The plasma on its arms is blue, meaning that it takes longer for it to explode (blue, green, yellow, orange, red). However, the explosion radius is much larger. When enraged, the plasma will turn yellow, seeming to almost vanish on the Sulfurous Brachydios's arms.

It shares Bracchidios's music theme.

Items/Carves[]

Carving: Sulfur Brach Shell, Sulfur Brach Horn, Sulfur Brach Scale, Brachydios Gem

Tail: Sulfur Brach Tail, Brachydios Gem

Capturing: Sulfur Brach Shell, Sulfur Brach Fist, Sulfur Brach Tail, Brachydios Gem

Drops: Wyvern Tear, Slime Mold

The arms and head can be broken, and the tail can be severed. Breaking the horn is rewarded with a Sulfur Brach Horn, and breaking both arms awards a Sulfur Brach Fist.

This list will be updated as more information on the regular Brachydios is revealed.

Attacks[]

Tail Sweep: Swings its tail while turning to the side. Always does two.

Fist Pound: Rears its head and raises one arm, then pounds the ground with the raised arm. (Plasma)

Fist Swipe: Rears back and to the side, then swings its arm in an arc.

Multi Fist Pound: Lowers its head and raises its tail, then charges while pounding the ground with its fists. (Plasma)

Lunging Pound: Steps back, licks its arms twice, then does a flying leap, landing on its arms. (Plasma)

Multi Lunging Pound: Same as the Lunging Pound, except will do two or three in a row. The Sulphurous Bracchidios will lick its arms four times before doing this.

Explosive Horn Thrust: Steps back and raises its head slightly, then jumps forward while ramming its horn into the ground. Then raises its head, causing a series of explosions in front of it.

Explosive Horn Slam: Raises its head way up, then slams its horn into the ground. Spots will light up on the ground around it, then it takes its horn out of the ground, causing large explosions where the lit spots were previously.

Arm Lick: Simply backs up while licking its arms.

Sulfur Breath: Brings its arms to its mouth and raises its head, then swings its arms down, opens its mouth wide, and sprays a cloud of gas in front of it. (Intoxicated)

Roar: Scratches the ground twice, then raises its head and roars.

UPDATE: Ebony Brachydios Info[]

The Ebony Brachydios is a new Rare species of Brachydios found in a new area called the Hellish Abyss.

Monster List[]

A very rare Brute Wyvern. This creature has never been seen by living eyes, preferring to hide in dark volcanic caves where humans never venture. There have, however, been sightings of its red plasma and terrifying roar.

Taxonomy[]

Kingdom: Animals

Phylum: Vertebrates

Class: Reptiles

Family: Wyverns

Order: Brute Wyverns

Genus/Species: Brutus limowyvernus instantifragor

In-Game Information[]

The Ebony Brachydios is fought only in the Hellish Abyss, on the highest level of online Quests (along with the other three Rare monsters - Lagiacrus, Nargacuga, and Agsolstea). It has no elemental weakness, and no element either. It can inflict Plasma status, as well as Fireblight. Like the Sulfurous Brachydios, it has several new attacks in its arsenal. However, as with most Rare monsters, these attacks are unique and very deadly.

The Plasma it utilizes is red, meaning it explodes almost instantly. Additionally, every attack from the Ebony Brachydios causes a small explosion. When enraged, these explosions become much larger. Since it carries this Plasma in its saliva as well (like the other Brachydioses), it can spit Plasma or, when enraged, literally breathe a chain of explosions.

Instead of using MHFU's Tower theme, like other Rare monsters, the Ebony Brachydios shares its theme with its two cousins.

Items/Carves[]

Carving: Abyssal Shell, Abyssal Horn, Abyssal Scale, Dark Brachydios Gem

Tail: Abyssal Tail, Dark Brachydios Gem

Capturing: Abyssal Shell, Abyssal Fist, Abyssal Tail, Dark Brachydios Gem

Drops: Wyvern Tear, VolatileSlimeMold

The arms and head can be broken, and the tail can be severed. Breaking the horn is rewarded with a Abyssal Horn, and breaking both arms awards a Abyssal Fist.

This list will be updated as more information on the regular Brachydios is revealed.

Explosive Horn Thrust: Steps back and raises its head slightly, then jumps forward while ramming its horn into the ground. Then raises its head, causing a series of explosions in front of it.

Double Thrust: Performs the Explosive Horn Thrust, but jumps back after attacking and quickly turns while lunging again in a different direction.

Explosive Horn Slam: Raises its head way up, then slams its horn into the ground. Spots will light up on the ground around it, then it takes its horn out of the ground, causing large explosions where the lit spots were previously.

Plasma Spit: Brings its arms to its mouth and raises its head, then swings its arms down, opens its mouth wide, and spits a large blob of Plasma in front of it. If it hits the target, it coats it in Plasma. If it hits the ground, it explodes violently. (Plasma)

Arm Lick: Simply backs up while licking its arms.

Explosive Breath: When enraged, it steps backwards while rearing its head back, then lowers its head to the side and breathes a chain of red and blue explosions that it sweeps to the side. (Similar to Deviljho's Wyvern Breath.)

Mighty Pound: Stands still, performs a deafening roar, then jumps straight up into the air. In the air, it brings a fist back, then slams the ground with all its might when it lands. This creates a shockwave that damages hunters. In Area 2 and 3, it also creates lava geysers. (Fireblight, indirectly)
